Molly was hospitalized for three nights after a vicious attack by a
coyote or large dog. A broken rib, seen ahead of the arrow, endangered her heart and had to be removed.
She had many puncture wounds like the one over her left eye. The blue bandage resulted from her IV. The sad tail is not typical of Molly.
The arrows point to gashes on the neck which oppose the injuries below.
Look at the extensive injuries on Molly's belly and neck.
Many stitches were needed to close the wound where the rib was removed.
Molly remained on pain medication for a week. You can see that she
feels just awful. This is very sad for a little beagle who is so
used to being happy and gay. This and the above photos were taken
right after Molly returned home from the hospital.
Here she is recovered and is a happy beagle again. (Seen with her
master)
Although minus a rib, she really doesn't look or act any differently.
She has no visible scars and she doesn't seem to remember the attack.
She shows no fear of the big dog which I think is responsible. I am
considering having her spayed because of the rib and because I may be
getting too old to outlive new puppies.
