Ron's Ramblings
Our Very Own
The WGN television station has a program featuring one of their very own–someone who has excelled in some way.
Our very own Justin Janney was the President of the Casey-Westfield Class of 2007, 82 members, that graduated Sunday, May 27. Being President gave him the honor of the Welcome and Introductions, which he served very capably.
Justin has been involved in 4-H, band, school drama and musical programs, the youth music programs at church, and he taught a Wednesday evening youth class. He plays piano and has also played in the United Methodist bell choir just to name the things that I am familiar with, which probably just skims the surface.
Justin's parents, sister, and grandparents, as well as classmates and his church family give him much support. Justin received the Casey Rotary Club Scholarship and will be attending SIU, Edwardsville. He will be starting six years of schooling to become a pharmacist.
His behavior and character might be questioned as his parents went with him recently on the band bus trip to Disney World. Also, I noticed that he had a rope around his neck at graduation. Might this be to keep him under control, or do you suppose it could be an "honor chord" since his grade point average greatly exceeded 3.5–the requirement to wear the "rope."
We'll miss you, Justin, when you report for fall classes. We trust your dad can keep that pleasant smile even when it comes time for tuition.
Good luck. Keep those grades going. When you open your local pharmacy shop in a few years, you will probably find many of your "current older friends" in line to have our many prescriptions filled.
