Name: Anne Catey, Head Coach

Softball Experience: Head varsity coach at Cumberland High School (since 2000); assistant to varsity in 1999; head coach at Cumberland Jr. High (since 1996); have played/coached for over 30 years.

Coaching Philosophy: Think and act positively! Players must believe in themselves and their abilities. One should never be satisfied with less than her best, as a player and/or as a coach. Expect the best effort from everyone involved - the coaches, the players, the managers, the umpires, and the fans. Fundamentals and details are crucial.

Varsity Career Record: 70-27 (Win %: 72%); Elite Eight (2002 - First time in the history of the school that any team sport - boys or girls - has reached the Elite Eight); Super Sectional Champions (2002); Sectional Champions (2002); Regional Champions (2002; 2000)

2002 All-State Awards
Lauren Holsapple Signs with Parkland


On Thursday, March 27, 2003, Lauren Holsapple was recognized recognized for her accomplishments during the 2002 softball season.  She and  Ashley Jones (former Lady Pirate now playing for Olney Central College) were chosen as Illinois Coaches Association 2001 All-State softball players and were given certificates at the end of the season last year.  Good job girls!!  You are the reason our program is recognized as one of the best in the state of Illinois!
 
 
 
 
 

Congratulations to Lauren Holsapple!

Lauren Holsapple signed a Letter of Intent to play for Parkland Community College and Head Coach Chuck Clutts.  After considering Webster University and Millikin University, Lauren decided to land in Champaign, Illinois.  Coach Clutts says he's excited that Lauren chose Parkland and is looking forward to having a player with her experience and desire next season.

Congratulations, Lauren!  You deserve this!!

HEY FANS - The American Legion in Toledo has respectfully requested that our fans and players do not park in the Legion parking lot for our Friday games.  They have Bingo on Friday nights and need the space for parking.

Game Updates
Marshall | Villa Grove | Hutsonville | St. Anthony |

The Lady Pirates opened their season with a big win over Marshall.  The score was 13-0.  The team pounded 16 hits. Their record is 1-0, and they travel to Villa Grove on Monday, March 24.

The Lady Pirates defeated Vilal Grove on Monday, March 24, by a score of 8-1.  The girls hit well again, totaling 12 hits on the night.  They also made some great defensive plays.   The jv Lady Pirates also won, defeating Villa Grove, 16-1.  The jv girls also showed off in the field as they pulled of a double play: center to cutoff (second base) to home for an out and down to third base to complete the double play.  The next jv game is March 27, in Toledo at 4:30 p.m. The next varsity game is March 31, in Toledo at 4:30 p.m.
