Virus Information:
- 5/03/04: A new worm "Sasser" is spreading rapidly. You don't have to click on a email attachment or any link to become infected.
It is spread by just being on the Internet. Windows 98 and Millenium users are not affected by this virus. Windows XP and 2000 computers are vulnerable without the most recent Windows Updates. To see if you have the virus and to attempt to repair it, follow this link: http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/sasser.asp If you are unable to download and run the repair file, you'll need to have a computer technician repair your computer. This can be done at the Computer Partners/Cumberland Internet store.
- 3/06/04:
Cumberland Internet's Spam and Virus filter service called Postini is catching viruses being sent that appear to be from Cumberland Internet. These messages are NOT from Cumberland Internet. The characteristics of this virus is that the messages appear to be from your Internet Service Provider. You can read about this and other viruses at
