For Windows 95/98 Users Only:
You can connect at the same speed and have the web pages load faster using LZS Compression. This is also known as STAC COMPRESSION. Most people use the Internet to browse web pages and read/send email. A good portion of this material is text-based and easily compressible. The result is that most people will experience an increase in the performance of their modem. While you will be connecting at the same speed, the amount of data that is sent through the pipeline will be greater. We have installed this hardware on our end and it will allow you to use this without purchasing any additional hardware or software. If you want to test it, try timing a download with and without the LZS Compression enabled.
After you make these changes, you must be sure that you are calling the 56k modems, If you aren't sure, check the Alternate Phone Number list.
This is for Windows 95/98 users with any modem speed:.
