Information for Internet Mail
Problem: When I try to get my e-mail, it says that it is retrieving X of X messages but I never get
the messages! Why? What can I do?
Answer:
When you hit 'send and receive' you are attempting to download the messages from your mailbox. If you have a number of messages or some large messages, your program will time out before it gets the messages. Go to Cumberland Internet's Mailman program by clicking on the link labeled MAILMAN at the top of the page right next to the word TOOLS.
This program will let you get your e-mail from any computer in the world that is connected to the
Internet. It also works well when you have a large file attachment that you don't want to receive. You'll put in your username and password and click on the 'log in' button.
You'll see all the mail that is on our server waiting to be delivered to your computer.
You can look down the right hand side and see how large the messages are. Very large messages can be deleted in mailman and then when you go to get your mail with your regular program you won't have the delay.
