This page and this table are to inform you of the different ways you can connect to Cumberland Internet, Inc.- Please look it over and write down an alternate number for you to dial if you should happen to get a busy signal on your primary line. Print this page out for future reference. We recommend that every user connect to us by using the 56k modems but the 33.6k modems are also available if you prefer these lines. There is more capacity on the 56k lines. The easiest way for you to dial the alternate line is to double click like you are going to connect to the Internet. At the page where you put your username and password, click where it shows the telephone number and change it to the alternate number and then click on 'connect'. This is for a one time change. The next time you open your connection, it will have the old number in it. If you want to change the number you are dialing permanently, see the instructions below the table on this page. |

To change the number you are dialing permanently, follow these instructions: For Windows 95 users: While you are not connected to the Internet, Double click on "My Computer" and then Double Click on "Dial Up Networking". Click ONCE on either Cumberland Internet, Inc. OR Internet signup (depending on when you installed your software) so it turns blue, click on 'file' then choose 'properties'. Change the phone number in the screen from your current dial in number to your new dial in number (see above table- LOOK CAREFULLY to avoid long distance charges!!) and click on 'ok'. Close Dial up Networking & My Computer and you are ready to connect! For Windows 3.1 users: Open up the window where you put your username and password but DON'T connect. Click on Dial Properties and change the phone number from current dial in number to your new dial in number (see above table - LOOK CAREFULLY to avoid long distance charges!!). Close Dial Properties and you are ready to connect! For Mac Users: E-mail me at Suggestions@rr1.net include your Mac OS System in your e-mail to me. Back to Frequently Asked Questions page E-mail suggestions@rr1.net if you have any questions about this information. |
